The 2nd International Fuel Cell Summer Seminar for Young Scientists 2011

This Summer Seminar has been organized for the benefit of young scientists (mainly PhD students) with a particular focus on the state-of-the-art technology in the field of fuel cell research, and on its future extensions to achieve green innovations. The lectures for this year cover a wide range of approaches, from basic theory to practical applications. To this end, six young leaders in the fields of electrocatalysis, polymer electrode membranes, and membrane-electrode assemblies have been invited as lecturers from all over the world. The lectures are arranged to have plenty of time (40 min. talk + 20 min. Q/A) so as to be easily comprehensible. In addition, the poster session, which will be presented by the participants, has also been allotted ample time so as to promote a deep understanding of each research activity and to allow an active exchange of ideas. One of the high points of the Seminar will be an excursion to enjoy the beautiful scenery around Yatsugatake area. We hope that this opportunity gives everyone a chance to engage in relaxed conversations, providing a basis for friendships between members of the upcoming generation of leaders in fuel cell research. Intensive discussions went on in a friendly atmosphere last year.

Students visiting from overseas are encouraged to apply for a financial support for the flight fees, up to 40,000JPY from Asian countries and 70,000JPY from other places. They will need to submit the necessary forms. See here for more details.
