From the Tokyo Area

Japan Railways (JR) Shinjuku station is the gateway to Kofu from Tokyo area.
 
• From Narita Airport to JR Shinjuku station, JR "Narita Express" is most convenient (direct connection, 80 min). "Keisei Liner" train or Airport Buses are also available (ca. 1.5 h).
• If you arrive at Haneda Airport, take a monorail train from Haneda Airport to Hamamatsu-cho and transfer to JR Yamanote Line to Shinjuku Station (totally ca. 1 hr from Haneda Airport to JR Shinjuku Station).
From JR Shinjuku station to Kofu station

1. JR Limited Express (Chuo Line)
These trains, named "Super Azusa", "Azusa", and "Kaiji" will take you directly to Kofu (1.5 hr to 2 hr).
The seats on the left side of the train are recommended, because you can see beautiful Mt. Fuji when the train is getting close to the Kofu area.
2. Public Bus Services
From the Long-distance Bus Terminal located at the Shinjuku Nishi-guchi (JR West Exit) (Advanced reservation is necessary at the bus center; phone: 03-5376-2222 or 055-237-0135; ticket must be purchased from Shinjuku Terminal to Kofu.. It takes about 2 hr note that the bus may be delayed by traffic jams).

From Osaka or Nagoya Area

Via JR Minobu Line (Shizuoka - Kofu)
Go to JR Shizuoka station by JR Tokaido Shinkansen (Bullet train). It takes about 2 hr from Shin-Osaka station or 1 hr from Nagoya station to Shizuoka by Hikari Super Express. Change trains to "Fujikawa" Limited Express bound for Kofu. It takes about 2 hr from Shizuoka to Kofu. If it is a fine day, you can see very beatiful Mt. Fuji.
