Reducing the amount of Pt catalyst is the biggest issue in polymer electrolyte fuel cells (PEFCs), and this paper reported important findings related to the effective use of Pt on nanopore surfaces in carbon support particles, based on joint research with Panasonic and partially supported by funds for projects from the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO).
