At the Ceramic Society of Japan Awards Ceremony held at the Courtyard Marriott Ginza Tobu Hotel (Chuo-ku, Tokyo) on Thursday, June 5, 2025, Prof. Katsuyoshi Kakinuma of the Clean Energy Research Center/Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Nanomaterials Center received the 79th (2024) CerSJ Awards for academic achievements in ceramic science and technology.
This award is given to researchers who have conducted valuable research in the science and technology of ceramics and have achieved particularly outstanding results. This award was presented to Prof. Kakinuma for his research on “Development of ceramic nanoparticle electrocatalysts for polymer electrolyte fuel cells and electrolysers”, which is expected to apply for hydrogen generation by large scale electrolysis and for heavy duty vehicles equipped polymer electrolyte fuel cells. Prof. Kakinuma said, “I am very honored that the research and development of these electrocatalysts has been recognized. I will contribute to the hydrogen society in near future by these researches.
