A paper by Prof. Kenji Miyatake (Clean Energy Research Center, and Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Nanomaterials Center) and his master student Ren Kumao, “Sulfonated and Fluorinated Aromatic Terpolymers as Proton Conductive Membranes: Synthesis, Structure, and Properties” (https://www.journal.csj.jp/doi/10.1246/bcsj.20220057), published in Bulletin of the Chemical Society of Japan, was selected as Award Article and to be featured on the inside front cover of the journal.
This paper reported that combination of three different components enabled high performance proton conductive polymer membranes. Prof. Miyatake commented that the findings would be expected to contribute to improving performance of polymer-based energy devices including fuel cells and water electrolyzers.
