A paper by Prof. Kenji Miyatake et al. of Clean Energy Research Center and Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Nanomaterials Center, “The effect of the piperidinium structure on anion-exchange membranes for applications in alkaline water electrolysis cells”, published in the Journal of Materials Chemistry A by the Royal Society of Chemistry, was selected to be featured on the back cover of the journal. In this paper, the methyl and trifluoromethyl substituents and bonding positions of piperidinium groups on the anion-exchange membranes was investigated to achieve improved hydroxide ion conductivity and alkaline stability for applications in alkaline water electrolysis cells. Prof. Miyatake commented that the findings are expected to contribute to next-generation water electrolysis cells and the related areas and that they will continue to endeavor.（https://doi.org/10.1039/d3ta03288d）
