November 20, 2013

Professor Kenji Miyatake received the “Grants-in-Aid for Scientific Research” Screening Examiners Commendation 2013 from the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science.
JSPS carries out the “Grants-in-Aid for Scientific Research” program for the purpose of promoting creative and pioneering research across a wide spectrum of scientific fields, ranging from the humanities and social sciences to the natural sciences.
While the agency strives to examine applications for research funding fairly and appropriately, it continually inspects the validity of these examinations to maintain high quality and reflects the results in the selection of screening examiners for the subsequent fiscal year. Furthermore, the agency selects and commends the screening examiners who presented particularly significant opinions during this examination process. Among 5,300 examiners, only 124 people were commended.
